About Dr. Melvin G. Barney, Esq.

Dr. Barney holds a Doctorate in Ministry from the United Theological Seminary, a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, and a M.S. in Industrial Administration (MBA), from the Carnegie Mellon University Graduate School of Industrial Administration. As an attorney, he started his legal career with the Law Office of Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr., worked on the O. J. Simpson “Trial of the Century”, and had the opportunity to become involved with other high-profile clients, including Michael Jackson, George Clinton, and Reginald Denny.

As a minister of the Gospel, Dr. Barney brings to the table a distinguished yet unique set of business, legal, and ministerial credentials. The business and legal training serves him particularly well in the pulpit, as he is highly skilled in balancing and relating the business to the spiritual. To his credit, Dr. Barney has a knack for reaching and relating to white-collars and blue-collars alike. Some have described his preaching style as a lawyer who has set about to “prove his case for the Lord.”

Dr. Barney’s kingdom assignment is to utilize these credentials to teach God’s people to make the Word come alive by embracing the promises of God, by pursuing an intimate relationship with Him, and by walking in the unity that makes God’s people invincible. Dr. Barney further seeks to minister wholeness and restoration to God’s people, to equip the body to be effective ambassadors for Christ, to establish outreach programs in the community that provide food, clothing, shelter, and education for the disenfranchised, and to establish enrichment programs within O Logos Ministries that focus on the development of our personal relationships with Christ, as well as on our interpersonal relationships with one another.
